Hey. I’m Jeff. Nice to meet you.
I’m Director of Creative Technology and Marketing Science at J. Walter Thompson Advertising in Atlanta, GA. I’ve been working primarily as a developer and strategist in Advertising for about the last 20 years or so, and I work there across all clients as the main driver and oversight for digital work going out of the agency. I manage a combination of creative technology/development, database & data warehousing, and analytics & reporting. I’m “the data lead” within the agency, largely responsible for driving overall direction and vision regarding all digital efforts. I’m best described as, “A developer who understands the creative process and the world of advertising… responsible for making and coding things – (We… my awesome team in Dallas) can make web projects, mobile apps and other digital experiences”. In short, I make shit. I know how to make shit, I enjoy making shit, and I think I’ve got a nice track record of making cool shit. Take a look, see what you think!
The comics are mine. It’s part of my obsession with Bronze Age Keys that started a few years ago, and has progressed unabated. One day I had some of them out (I recently purchased some comic book collection management software and went through the arduous task of entering in my whole collection into the database) and thought it made a nice picture. So I spread them out and snapped that. Here are the books, left to right.
Amazing Spider-Man 129 (First Appearance of the Punisher), Brave and Bold 54 (First Appearance of the Teen Titans), Green Arrow 85 (Neal Adams/Denny O’Neil – Speedy on Heroin), Detective Comics 400 (Neal Adams – First Appearance of Man-Bat), Detective 359 (First Appearance of Batgirl), Love Stories 5 (100 Page Giant), Weird Stories (100 Page Giant)
Sandman 1, Amazing Spider-Man 121 (Death of Gwen Stacey), Mr. Natural 1 (First Print R. Crumb), Hulk 181 (First Wolverine), Giant Sized X-Men 1 (First Modern X-Men), Strange Tales 89 (First Fin Fang Foom), House of Secrets 92 (First Appearance Swamp Thing)
Batman 232 (First Appearance of Ra’s Al Ghul), Uncanny X-Men 141 (Byrne Claremont Days of Future Past), Brave and Bold 50 (First Silver Age Team-Up), Superman 232 (Classic Neal Adams Cover), X-Men 94 (2nd Modern X-Men), Green Lantern 76 (First Adam/O’Neil team-up), Strange Adventures 205 (First Deadman)
I’m not gonna lie. I know this page is called “Frequently Asked Questions”, but really, that’s about the only question that comes up. My friends who collect comics sometimes ask me about the Spider-Man 129 and the Strange Tales 89 because I had them professionally pressed. Perhaps I’ll write a blog post about it, but I did get them pressed, and I was very pleased with the results I got back.
I suppose as I do more, and perhaps blog more, I’ll have more to post here. If there’s something you want to reach out to me about, please don’t hesitate to hit up my “Contact Form“.
Thanks and enjoy!
